TouchSecure(R) Desktop Programmer From Identive Enables On-Demand Issuance of Physical Access Credentials

SANTA ANA, Calif. and ISMANING, Germany, April 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Identive Group, Inc., a provider of products, services and solutions for the identification, security and RFID industries, today introduced the TouchSecure® Desktop Programmer -- a next generation platform for on-demand issuance of physical access credentials.

The new TouchSecure programmer enables on-demand credential issuance by supporting the industry's most popular proximity card formats through a single platform, eliminating the need for externally-sourced programming and the additional time and costs involved. The programmer allows resellers, integrators and customers the option of stocking one generic card and then programming to the format they need, when they need it.

"Industry credential distribution models have not been able to keep pace with customer demands given lead times to source and deliver cards," explained John Menzel, Vice President Access Control ID Solutions for Identive. "While the credential printer industry has done an excellent job to accelerate the graphical personalization process, programming of the secure encryption on credentials has lagged behind, until now. The TouchSecure Desktop Programmer allows companies to manage their own proximity card issuance, on demand."

The TouchSecure programmer is fully integrated with credential management software from ISLOG, an industry leader in card management and issuance, which allows customers to select the desired proximity format from a drop-down menu and then print their credentials using their own printer. The programmer's integration with major desktop credential printer companies further ensures a seamless, on demand process. Cards can be programmed and marked with a user identification number or complete graphical personalization, depending on the desired application.

"Providing simple and powerful solutions for encoding cards gives dealers and large end-users flexibility with how they manage their card population," says Lionel Moerel, president of ISLOG. "We support the growth of smarter cards and RFID solutions and we are pleased to partner with Identive, which like ISLOG has significant industry knowledge and a high level of competence in RFID technologies. Identive's new programmer is very innovative and we immediately recognized that it could provide significant new opportunities for card personalization."

The TouchSecure Desktop Programmer supports many popular 125 kHz proximity card formats, including all major building access credentials. The new programmer is part of the TouchSecure family of revolutionary access readers that enable organizations to upgrade and integrate their physical and logical access control systems quickly and cost-effectively while retaining existing proprietary physical access systems.

For customers that prefer to contract their credential personalization, Identive offers complete service bureau facilities, including graphical and electrical personalization, with prompt, high-quality services at affordable prices.

The TouchSecure Desktop Programmers will be on display at the Identification Systems Group (ISG) show in Albuquerque, New Mexico April 16-18. The programmer is available now from Identive.
